2015 Hervey Bay Whale Festival
The Fraser Coast region has reason to celebrate with this exciting arrival of thousands of migrating whales which travel to the region each year.
To commemorate this exciting occurrence each year, the region holds the annual Hervey Bay Whale Festival which includes a variety events such as the Blessing of the Fleet, Paddle Out for Whales and the Illumination Concert and Parade.
Signifying the annual movement of whales along the east coast of Queensland, the Illumination Parade incorporates the carrying of lanterns along the streets by hundreds of people who all meet afterwards at the main concert.
The theme in 2015 for the concert is ‘Celebrate the Sea’, and the event will be held on Saturday, October 17, 4pm at the Seafront Oval.
