There is direct ferry access to Kingfisher Bay Resort from the River Heads Ferry Terminal in Hervey Bay. You can fly into Hervey Bay from elsewhere in Australia, or drive there (it's a 3.5 hour drive north of Brisbane).
Are pick-ups offered from our resorts in Hervey Bay if we are staying there prior?

Yes, K'gari is a sand island where 2WD vehicles are not suitable. You can either join guided 4WD tours to explore the island, or hire a 4WD. Of course you can bring your own 4WD if you have one as well!
When is the best time to visit K'gari?
There is no bad time to visit K'gari, as the Queensland weather is relatively warm year-round. The winter months have the added bonus of whale watching off the coast, whereas the summer months have the warmest weather for outdoor activities. Shoulder season provides lovely temperatures and fewer crowds.
