Tide Times K’gari (Fraser Island) 2021
K’Gari, or Fraser Island is a natural playground and there is so much to see, however access to and around the island is tide dependant. Before you head to Fraser Island, make sure you know the high and low tide times, as you will likely be without mobile service to check! If you're planning on driving on Fraser Island's 75 Mile Beach, you'll want to be prepared prior to travel with the area's tide times, as many areas are dependent on them. Tides at Waddy Point (Fraser Island) are located in Queensland, Australia, based on the following coordinates:
LAT 24° 58’ S LONG 153° 21’ E
Please do not drive on Fraser Island Beaches especially around and near headlands at high tide. You need to plan your trip carefully to drive on the beach as close to low tide as possible. This gives you around 4 hours of time to drive along the beach.
for the experienced 4wd enthusiasts you will know how hard the driving is trying to drive on the very soft sand above the tide line.
Many clutches and engines are burnt out trying this feat and you are a long way from help.
The locals generally say stay well away from the more exposed areas 2 hours before and 2 hours after high tide.
Here are the tide times for Fraser Island for 2021:*
January - April 2021
