Frequently Asked Questions

Are nurse sharks dangerous?

Although they look rather ominous, grey nurse sharks are typically harmless to swimmers, snorkellers, and divers. Of course, like many animals, they can cause serious harm if they feel threatened, so be sure to let them be and give them their space.

Where is Wolf Rock?

Wolf Rock is a dive site 2km off Double Island Point. The area is classified as a marine sanctuary as it is the only known gestation site for endangered Grey Nurse Sharks on the East Coast of Australia

Do I need to have my Nitrox Certification to do this dive?

Due to a significant additional level of safety, all dives at Wolf Rock are on Nitrox. Divers without Nitrox certification will receive an introduction to Nitrox course and the opportunity to upgrade to full certification on the day.

What is included in the price of this tour?

Nitrox tanks and weights, experienced guide and a snack lunch are included in the price of your tour.

What scuba certification do I need to do this tour

You must to have a minimum of an Advanced Diver certification or a recognised equivalent to do this tour.

Please be aware that Junior Advanced Open Water divers have a depth limit of 21 metres. Please get in touch with an agent to discuss options if you hold a Junior Advanced Open Water certification.

You will be using Nitrox on your dive at Wolf Rock, though a Nitrox certification is not necessary. You will receive an introduction to Nitrox course and the opportunity to upgrade to full certification the day.
