Camping Permits Included in K'gari 4WD Hire

Adventure awaits you at every turn on this iconic island and one of the best ways to experience K'gari in all its glory is to hire a 4wd to explore by day and set up camp under the stars at night.
Campsites
There are 45 QPWS campsites provided for public use on K’gari (K'gari) and locations vary from pristine beach to bush camping. If you are travelling with children under 14 years old it is important to consider dingo safety and it is recommended that you choose a campsite with a dingo fence such as Central Station, Dundubara, Waddy Point or Lake Boomanjin.
Permits
Camping permits are required for all QPWS campsites and must be purchased before setting up camp on K'gari. This means you will need to plan the date(s) you will be at your campsite(s) of choice and book before you arrive as mobile phone coverage is limited on the Island. Camping permits are $6.65 per adult per night and can be purchased online, by phone (13QGOV) or through one of the 52 booking offices on the mainland.
