There is a well-stocked general store at Cathedrals that is open from 8am - 5pm. Here you can buy groceries, fuel, 4x4 parts, ice, alcohol, camping and fishing gear, and some pharmaceuticals. Other facilities here are open to the public as well! These include the Satinay Bar and Cafe, public toilets, free drinking water, an ATM, an Australia Post mailbox, and a free Telstra public phone. This is also one of the only places on the island where ambulance services are located, though hopefully, you won’t need those!
Orchid Beach Trading Post
Orchid Beach Trading Post is located all the way at the northern tip of the island. So it’s quite out of the way unless you’re spending time in the north and visiting nearby attractions like Champagne Pools, Waddy Point, and Indian Head Lookout.
The general store at Orchid Beach sells a small selection of supplies, groceries, and alcohol. This is one of the smaller stores on the island, so don’t plan on buying everything for your trip here! However, it is a handy place to grab some fuel and a few snacks or extra supplies before continuing on your adventure! Head to the Driftwood Bar, a family-run pub for a few cold drinks before you move on.
