Prepare to be blown away by the breathtaking beauty of this hidden local gem, only accessible by 4WD. Double Island Point boasts crystal-clear waters that stretch as far as the eye can see with a shadow of Fraser Island in the distance. This destination truly has it all and is well-known for as a fantastic fishing spot and location to see the multi-coloured sand dunes.

Get ready to soak up the sun, because the Sunshine Coast is where it’s at! This location has some of the most glorious weather on the East Coast of Australia, with almost year-round sunshine, you see it truly lives up to its name! Double Island Point is a great place for the ultimate beach vacation where you can learn to surf the waves, kayak with dolphins and stand-up paddleboard. Camping near Rainbow Beach


Did you know that you can camp overnight? The camping at Teewah Beach 
in the Cooloola Recreation Area is exactly where you can do that. There are campsites along the coast that head all the way down to Noosa! This means you don’t need to limit yourself or your time spent in the area, just be sure to obtain a camping and vehicle permit. Stay here for your chance to catch a Bream or Flathead, if fishing is what you’re into. Keep a keen eye on the seas during winter for your chance to see humpback whales! Pack your map, deflate your tyres and prepare yourself for the ultimate tropical escape along the Sunshine Coast.

When is the best time to go to Double Island Point?


Between May and October, the weather is glorious! So, take advantage of the weather and book your trip during the Autumn, Winter and Spring months on the East Coast of Australia. Don’t despair if you’re planning to visit during the Summer, between December and February, there is a chance of showers but when the sun is out, it is hot! Whether you’re catching waves or chilling out in the coloured sands, this is the perfect place the let loose and enjoy the great Australian outdoors.
