1. Four-Wheel Driving

Driving along K'gari's 75-mile Beach highway has to be a once-in-a-
lifetime experience. As the largest sand island in the world, you cannot pass up the
chance to get in a four-wheel drive and spin the wheels on a tag-along tour. 

2. Whale Watching

Fraser is world famous for its migrating whales and these amazing animals are really a 
sight to see. Whale season runs from July to November when humpback whales migrate
to warmer, protected waters. It is very common to see a mother with her new born calf!
There are several tours for whale watching where you can see these animals animals!

3. Camping

If you have wanted to experience real camping with a fire, breezy nights and sleeping
in a swag or tent, then K'gari is the best place to try it out! There are a number
of overnight tours which include camping equipment, tents and cooking utensils. They
all inclusive and meals and all equipment are included!

4. Take a Dip

Whether it's at Champagne Pools, Eli Creek, Lake McKenzie or Lake Wabby, there are
numerous places to cool off with a swim on the island! There are known to be over 100
freshwater lakes to choose from so definitely pack your swimming costume!

5. Rainforest Walk

A popular attraction to visitors certainly is the mystic Central Station rainforest which is
actually a former wooding village. This incredible part of K'gari is located close
to Wanggoolba Creek, Basin Lake, Pile Valley and Lake Wabby. 

6. Jetskiing

With the likelihood of seeing marine life, including turtles, dolphins and possibly dugongs,
a jetski is a great mode of transportation to get the most out of your time in the region.
Join a tour and operate your very own jetski as you make your way along the glorious
coastline of Fraser.

7. Fishing

The Great Sandy Strait is a notorious fishing spot for anglers wanting to snag a saltwater
keeper. If you love the great outdoors, than you have to try a bout of fishing either by
boat or try casting a line straight off the beaches, foreshores and rivers.

8. Sight-seeing on your own

If you have your own itinerary in mind then why not opt to hire a vehicle for the day and
venture around the island and your own leisure. There are number four-wheel drive
vehicles for hire with operators giving you a sample itinerary to go off for the ultimate
Fraser experience.

9. Sand Sledding

Go on try it! Sand sledding is an optional activity on a few of the overnight tours and
certainly an adrenalin rush! Sand boards and sand sleds are designed to slide down the
sand dunes of K'gari, and the best places to do this are Carlo Sand Blow and
the dunes.

10. Cruise in comfort

If you prefer a guided tour over a tag along (self drive) tour, than you cannot pass up
jumping in a special four-wheel drive bus which are designed to travel over Fraser's
sandy surface. These tours are great for families or anyone who wants a comfortable
ride in an air-conditioned bus.
